Had it with the dual carb system

PostAuthor: Flaekingr » Mon Jun 21, 2021 5:01 am

Like the topic says. They're a pain in the rectum to get off and on and I'm officially done with them. Has anyone got a single carb manifold they'd like to sell me? Extra points for being in australia. And no, I'm not interested in opinions of why dual carb is better or whether or not you personally find it easy taking them on and off. Just please let me know if you have a single carb setup you'd be willing to sell and ship to me in Aus.
Cheers.

You will want one with equal length runners. Nanno (Greg) in Austria can probably supply one, but he is in a different Aus...

Greetings to Ozzyland - unfortunately I am very well booked with work at the moment and realistically I can take on new work by the end of October, early November.
(Shipping to Australia is not a big deal, but will cost "some" money.)

If it's still relevant, give me a shout mid September, then I will know more.

Good thing you don't own an in-line or v four.

I did mine a few years ago, but wouldn’t do it again, the rear cylinder can’t be jetted differently and runs hotter.

It's not the number of carbs, it's how much a pain they are to get to for working on them. I've had inline 4s and they're fine. I guess I could go with a short manifold for each cylinder that kept the carbs separate and connect them via a cable, but I'm fine with just going to a single and sacrificing a bit of performance. Thanks for the helpful response. :GJ:
