Clutch replacement (SOLVED)I found this article on clutch replacement.. they use a XV750 as the example. Complete with photos.

just to be clear with the first link, he said lean it over so the oil doesn't leak out, does this mean that you can actually do this with a crankcase full of oil? ![]() and to be sure, because i don't think it said anywhere plainly, the parts you will need if your clutch is worn beyond repair, is a set of steel plates, a set of organic plates (kevlar, composite ect) springs, and gaskets, that's it? ![]() "more plating than the grille of a '59 Caddy." -85 xv1000 BACA
Re: Clutch replacementI'd replace the screws as they can break easy, and a new lock washer.
![]() 1995 XV750, 28 000 miles, V&H pipes, sounds like a .50 cal and goes like a stabbed rat.
Re: Clutch replacement+1!! Even tho they only get torqued to like 5ft/lbs, three of mine broke last time I did my clutch. Just ordered a new set myself, rebuilding my clutch next week.

cable [hiding in plain site] is easily over-looked. it should be visually inspected [both ends] and lubed [I use motor oil] before re-installing - if not replaced. "Over the Mountains of the Moon,
