That is an EXCELLENT looking trike XVTRIKE has going together...........so much so, that i'm tinkering with the idear of doing my rago up in trike form!

But, like Matthew said, what gear ratio would you run in the rearend?

Personally, i'm leaning towards using like an S-10 rearend..........not to wide and easy to come by. Only question is, what gearing?

Anywhos, i PM'd XVTRIKE (tried to e-mail, but got the "user wishes not to receive e-mail at this time" error) and hopefully he'll get the PM and post an update. If not, i'll let you all know what he has to say, if anything :con:

I am pretty much set on using a 5lug plymouth/dodge rear from a 70-80 truck or duster like. As I have a set of nice deep dish 15in rims from a 79 duster I had. Need some wide meats.

Hey Matt.........you start converting yours yet?

Waiting on a swingarm for mine, but once it's here i'll be starting mine

Just curious if off-setting the rear dif is actually needed.......i know the driveshaft would be "cocked" without the offset, but thinking it should work...........should being the keyword here LOL

Id sure like to get started. I dunno. I want the offset so I can run a belt or chain off of it for a decent car alternator. Bu it does raise the cost getting axles cut down and stuff.

Hello Guys I'm back, forgot my password and change my email address so now i am XVTRIKE1 instead of XVTRIKE
I will indever to post some more pics of the trike soon
The final diff ratio I am using is 3.08:1 this gives me approx. 4500 rpm at 100 kph or 60 miles
I will be changing the rear fenders to steel and i have to install a fined cover for the diff centre

have a cookie...

meanwhile -
Any ideas on how to get the reverse gearing?
I've seen a mod for the xv1100 but as per usual with so many stupid websites nowadays - no price - how useful (if i can find the link i'll update it).
Alot of the chain driven trikes fitted with reverse use a starter motor for short bursts or reverse (reverse mostly fitted on disabled trikers tricycles)
I'm considering fitting an inline gearbox (again what box?) - which would give me 5 reverse's :burnout:
Your thoughts are welcomed

G'day Guys
I didn't try and fit a reverse because it isn't really needed. The bike is approx. 100 kgs heavier than it was but because it is a three wheel there is no need to steady yourself you just push it backwards it is quite easy
