How long should my kick stand be ?

PostAuthor: chrismartin8101 » Thu Jun 07, 2018 3:29 pm

I have an 86 Virgo 700. I feel it means to far over when on the kickstand. The under mounted stand is missing too. How long of a kick stand should I have or is the bracket more them likely bent. It doesn't look damaged but if I start it on the kick stand and let it idle the oil light comes on from being tilted so much.

We need to see what you call too much, you’ll have to show us.

The oil light on while on the side stand is normal, nothing wrong.

Sometimes the bolt holding the stand to its mounting bracket gets sloppy (excessive free play) and the bike will lean over further than normal.
