J4T033 TCI Exploded Component Values

PostAuthor: apprenticemart2 » Sun Sep 15, 2013 10:09 am

Hi All,
This is from my old man's bike and so I don't have all the details about the bike itself, apologies for that.

I'm hoping someone here knows the component number for ZNR1 which I believe is a surge absorber. As it was badly burned the only thing I could read off the part was ZNR and the number 70. This could be 270 or 470 (or anything else really).

I also have a diode that split down the middle. It is the same type component as shown in my photographs(from pcb location D8). The part has M0 Z 25 written on it. 'Z' would usually indicate a zener but the silkscreen symbol is not that of a zener and I have not seen a zener in this type of D0-35 style before so I don't think it is a zener.

Many Thanks
Mart

You can still get quite a heap of zeners in the DO-35 package, so it could still be one of them. Can you roughly trace where or what the components were connected to? This will help determine their function. I'm not sure how Mitsubishi annotate their components but if it were a Denso they would be annotated according to their functional groups which make things alot easier!

Depends on the goo but I've usually had good success submerging the whole board in thinners

Z,
I typically use 16 or 18 volt varistors

Failure is usually caused by something or someone outside the tci.

2,
Got any pix of before you started? 360 of the diodes?
