Carb Fuel Level

PostAuthor: TheBeast » Tue Oct 20, 2020 8:47 am

Hi folks

I have recently replaced the float needle and seat in my carb on Virago xv 125.
I want to ensure the floats are set to the correct height, but after extensive research I cannot find the float height measurement or the Fuel level measurement for the 125 in any manuals or forums.

If anyone has any recommendations on where to find the correct levels for the 125 I would really appreciate the input.
Thanks very much...

Look for the measurement in the XV250 manual, it should be the same.

I assume you have a BDS(26mm?) carb. Just as important if not more so than setting "float height"...is checking "fuel level" , via clear tube method, after everything is put back together and "running". Just cuz you set "float height" to specs, does not always guarantee the correct "fuel level", for various reasons. Not sure why I remember this, but it's 14mm from scribe mark on the float bowl cover. Besides..takes only few minutes to check, to be sure everything is right on. :cl:
