You're not finished yet.

To make sure you're not running it lean still, clean the plugs, then run them for a bit, and take a look at their colour.
Despite having less than others, knowing I worked harder and sacrificed more for it should be it's own consolation.

will do. i have the mixture screw set to 2 and 3/4 which i think is what's recommended but i'll check the plugs after a full tank of petrol and see what they look like. i still have to do the fork seals as one is leaking but i've done fork seals before on another bike so that shouldn't be a problem

one tank of juice later and the plugs look good :banana:

i'm planning on getting a new intake manifold soon so that should improve things even more. thanks for all the advice :rockon:

Xv125 and Xv250 carbs are different. I've tried a Xv125 carb on my Xv250, low end torque is better but it has limited top end.
That's because of the radious of the cylinder throat. Xv125 has narrower throat than the 250.
By the way, if anyone likes low end torque in city riding, can put on a XV125 carb, but they will sacrificing high end.
