Have you given any thought to your shocks being worn out ?

:yup:

if you are experiencing "bottoming-out" feeling on the rear shocks, then they are prolly dead and should be replaced.
[unless being way over-loaded] :naughty:

you could try increasing the spring 'pre-tension', [you may need the 'special' tool] but I suspect it will make only a slight difference.

new shocks with progressive springs might make all the difference. [they are not inexpensive]

Thank to all - have increased tension on shocks - has improved situation - as to new shocks - find it hard to find ones to match my original virago535 1998DX - all chrome shocks - so many others out there!

glad to hear it helped some.

the Progressive 430's are all chrome, but pretty pricey @ ~$500 USD >>> https://www.progressivesuspension.com/p ... ies-shocks

perhaps just replacing the springs might do it. :con:

Guess ya could check out shocks for the Rebel250. Search VTF forums...should find all the info you need to decide if they would work for ya. Lotta people say they work just fine. On a 535? Don't know. But...remember...these are for a 250, not 535 (535 is probly 50-100# heavier..plus rider?). Don't know, would have to look that up, myself.
