Factory Service Manuals

PostAuthor: Pboudrea » Thu Jan 09, 2020 6:52 pm

Does anyone out there know where I can find/purchase a genuine factory Yamaha repair manual for my 1996 535, new or used? bought the Clymer manual and am really disappointed.

Haynes is far better in my opinion. Factory manuals are difficult to find. Try eBay. Go to Yamaha's website and see if you can purchase a new one there. They will be expensive if still available.

VTF family may have one, but keep trolling Ebay and Craigslist, or used book stores (if one's near by)

or if you have some extra money you could go to yamahapubs.com for a recent (new) printing >>> https://www.yamahapubs.com/results.php? ... 35&lang=en
(~$90)

JMO: I prefer the vintage OEM ones, printed the year the model was introduced [esp. 920J - 750, LIT-11616-XV-91] - the photos and illustrations are better. the later one ['85-'99 700 to 1100 LIT-11616-06-10] pics look a bit "over-xeroxed" - so high contrast that details are hard to see; however, the schematics and specs (torques, etc.) are more reliable than after-market manuals.

Bonne chance...

EDIT ->->->
one like this >>> https://www.ebay.com/itm/USED-OEM-YAMAH ... 8260!US!-1
and plus these >>> https://www.ebay.com/itm/Yamaha-1995-XV ... xydlFSsfnp

End Edit...

...... :yup:... Without a doubt... Specially since the earlier prints (Clymers) have colored wiring diagrams. Later printings do not. Was able to find a earlier copy on ebay..to replace my worn-out original. Think I paid $25 for it. The draw back is the early prints "do not" include the 535s.
Early prints (This one not too good of shape)---> https://www.ebay.com/itm/Clymer-Yamaha- ... Sw4RNdXN-b ..
Later printings (B&W wiring diagrams)---> https://www.clymer.com/search/?prodtype ... &year=1996 (Also on ebay for like $15)
