Re: Manual Petcock you've wanted me to tell you about.I just ordered these ones after I found a blog somewhere (can't remember how I found it).
The blog listed a bunch of different Yamaha part numbers that could be used to replace the vacuum ones. So I went here and bought them. http://www.boats.net/parts/detail/yamah ... 11-00.html A little more than the pit bikes, but I wanted to do it once. I will mod the fuel line as the right hand one faces the wrong way. The only question I have is what is the best way to cap the carb boots? I don't want to cob it, I want it to look right. Any ideas or pictures of what you have done? Thanks in advance...

Today, I noticed that my cheap manual petcock has started to leak. All in all, I'd say a pretty good experience with it to date. I bought it in March of '08 and have been using it since April of '08. Need to drain nearly a full tank of gas now in order to fix or replace, probably just the o-ring behind the face plate and I may have one here. Re: Manual Petcock you've wanted me to tell you about. (PARTLast night was the end. I started the 'ol girl to put her in her quarters and when I turned the petcock, my forefinger and thumb were wet with gas. I could live with a bit of stain on the cylinder fins, because it never had a drop form on the petcock that I ever saw, and never had pooled anywhere either.
This morning, when I checked the situation, the petcock lever was wet and there was a small wet spot on the floor beneath. This afternoon, I ordered a new petcock, Yamaha OEM part number 21V-24500-20-00, $24.00 with free shipping. I can't complain, $9.99 and 10 years later it's time to replace. A new o-ring will fix the problem, but I know I don't have one to fit, at least not a nitrile o-ring. _______________________________________________________________________
