Air filter replacement

PostAuthor: PatKD » Fri Apr 13, 2018 11:49 pm

Hi, this might come across as a newbie question, but where can I find a replacement for my xv 500 air filter? Mine is really gross, compliments of the previous owner. I can't find a part number anywhere on the forum or on the web. Is everyone running pods inside the frame? If so, what dimensions am I looking for?
Thanks

Thanks for the input, it's nice to have parts lists and an idea of the prices I should expect. I called the nearest dealership, the price is similar what with exchange rates, shipping and customs.

Glad it helped. I like the idea of roll'n yer own. On mine, I just got some UNI filter foam, ripped out the wire support, replaced the foam and replaced the wire. Was like $10 for the foam vs $35+ for a UNI filter.. Only drawback, now I got lots of extra foam I"ll probly never use. Oh well..there's always lawnmowers, cars and chainsaws.
