Cracklin' Rosie

Chop it, rake it, slam it, build it for show.
New parts, old parts, built from scrap. [Hammered out of bare stock & welded with sweat.]

So there have been a few changes since my last post. Some longer shocks in a more upright position and a seat unit. Final position of the shocks may change a little when fabrication of the rear sub frame commences.

I'm a little annoyed at Cognito Moto who sell a fork stem conversion to fit a '08 R1 front to a '96 XV750 when there is not enough clearance for this combo to function correctly! Tyre will contact motor before full compression is reached...

I've purchased these from an Aussie company in Sydney and hopefully they will rectify my tyre to motor clearance issues and allow full fork travel...

I've also purchased these. Ridiculously inexpensive and quality appears to be very good. So I'll be able to start mucking around with my riding position once I get the front end sorted...

You could simply let so air out of the tire. [emoji6]

Nice collection of bits too. I really like the look you've created!

Thanks Pete... I’m trying to create a ‘50s or ‘60s GP or Manx racer look. Researching and buying bits is good fun but I’m trying to do it on the cheap as I’m not sure exactly what I’m doing and weather it will be functional in the long run! I’m not in any rush, I just really like being in the workshop and mucking about... lol

You've nailed the Manx look, one of my favorites. Any plans for a fairing?

A fairing is certainly on the cards. In the Manx style, just a nose cone or a very small frame mounted bikini. The bike as it evolves determines the path. Nothing is set in concrete at this stage...
