I had a look at the style of your rear fender and it almost the same as mine. I fitted a Norton style tail light to mine

@scooterorg: Check this Attachment Pictorial out. If you follow the very easy steps that are shown in there you will be able to attach a picture to any of your posts. Just make sure that you re-size any large photos that are bigger than 1024 x 768 pixels.
The idea of this forum is to share information not send private messages so that nobody else gets to see the pictures.

Thanks scooterorg for the info an pics, i've bought the Honda Rebel shocks from eBay and I'm just waiting for them to come in. The regulator has'nt come in yet so while i'ts not running I made up a side mount number plate holder to use after I get the bike roadworthy and registered. here's a few pics:

The regulator/rectifier came in so I finally got it installed. Bike runs fine now. Installed the Rebel shocks and a solo seat. Took it for a ride and it does'nt bottom out which is great considering I weigh over 100kg. Here's a few pics...

Looks like you put the stock rear fender/tail light/signals back on. Are you going to keep it this way, or do you plan on using your modified rear fender? I actually think it looks pretty good in these pics, amazing what a difference the rebel shocks and different seat make. Are you planning on beefing up the rear tire as well? I would also like to know where you got that seat....

I followed your idea and got the seat, I am very happy with the way it turned out. I will give it a few weeks and may look at fitting 2x 2 1/2 inch clothes peg springs.

Hi guys,
Hundy50, I've put all the stock gear back on so I can get it roadworthy. I've sent the modified fender to be painted gloss black and I'll be buying some new side covers to match. I won't be running a front fender once it's registered. Scooterorg, that seat looks great on your bike, puts mine to shame mate. Tom,I can't stand the lollipops either. I've got mini bullet indicators and stop lights to go on after it's registered. I'll post some pics once I make some more progress.

Alrighty then!, It's gonna be looking good! What are you going to do about the license plate? I went this way. The license plate is illuminated by a standard auto lic. light. The upper two bullet lights are running, tail and turn lights. The single bullet light over the plate is the brake light.

I've made up a license plate holder that mounts to the bottom of the shock absorber. I've got some white led bolts I got off eBay to light the plate and they work well. I'll be mounting two bullet stop/tail lights in the same position as your running lights Tom with the mini bullet indicators mounted underneath them.

Got the rear fender back from the spray painters. All the small holes were welded up and smoothed over with filler and painted gloss black. I think they did a really good job.

Managed to mock up the rear end.Definitely need a larger rear tyre.

I'm running a oversize 140/90/15 on the rear. I got it from E-Bay, Number 120744272406. It's a G-907 GS Hi Max Brand. It was $60.00 with free shipping in the US. I'm totally pleased with it and the service of the seller. Made a big difference in the look! A larger tire will fill in some of that space under the fender. Using solid struts I was able to drop down as much as I needed by adjusting the length of the struts. The bullet lights look really good. A nice pair of short stem of tear drop style cruiser mirrors will continue the lower streamline look. Got mine from J.C. Whitney on line. # 1JA013984. They were inexpensive and the quality is very good. You can see them on my bike photo. Your fender paint came out very nice, your bikes looking good.

Now I'm after a 140/90/15 rear tyre to fill in the space underneath the fender. I'm also after a 3.00-18 or possibly a 100/90/18 front tyre. Does anyone know where I can buy motorcycle tyres in Melbourne? I'd really like to get my hands on white walls if possible.

First of all Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone, hope you all have a great holiday, I go back to work tomorrow so I really did'nt get much time to work on the bike. I did however manage to clean up the old mirrors. I think they came up ok

I also had the original seat reupholstered for when I want to take longer trips as the springer seat is not all that comfortable.

Looking good! Those mirrors did clean up pretty well. Your bikes coming along fine. I have been working on the drag pipes I got from Larish41, not that they needed it, I just wanted to do something a little different with them but have come down with a cold "bug" or something so that's on hold until I feel better. Keep us posted on your progress.

Dude, that kicks arse, and is exactly what I'm after!! You're in Melbs too? Nice- We should catch up and compare ideas :)
Would a 100/90/18 be the fattest tyre to fit on the XV250?
