Side mount boot

PostAuthor: Flaekingr » Wed Jun 10, 2020 8:13 pm

Hey folks.
As the subject says, I'm trying to source an intake to side mount my carb. I'm swapping the engine into a rigid frame and would rather side mount the carb than raise the tank. Any help is always appreciated. Cheers.

Contact Adam Smith on the Facebook site, he may be able to help you.

Is this for your 750, or a 250 ?

You posted in XV250.

If your 750, are you looking to use a single carb ?

I need to move this thread to the proper location.

Side mount carb boot

PostAuthor: Flaekingr » Fri Jun 12, 2020 6:27 am

I'm shoehorning an xv250 clone into a hardtail frame and I'm gonna need to either lift the tank or sidemount the carb to get it to fit. I'm not a huge fan of the frisco style so I'm going the sidemount route. Can anyone help me with sourcing a boot to sidemount the carb?

Rather than delete this thread or the other one on the same subject, I'm merging the two together. It would have been much simpler if you had answered my question, so this post and step would not have been necessary.

You only need to post one topic per issue/problem. Multiple threads on the same topic will not get you faster or better answers, most likely just duplicate answers. If different solutions should be offered, it's better to have them on one thread.

Sorry for the confusion folks. For some reason I couldn't see this post and thought it had been deleted or something, hence the double post. And yes, for my xv250, not my 750. I'll update my profile.

No luck on this mission yet. Anyone on here have any fresh ideas? bstig60 can you be a bit more specific? There are more than a few Adam Smith's on facebook.

Adam Smith, aka "smithtec" on VTF, https://www.finessefabrication.com/. So you could look him up on this forum -easiest would be to find a posting under the single carb heading, and send a pm. or try to contact him through his website. Hope that helps.
