spark plug help

PostAuthor: sss777 » Tue Sep 08, 2020 6:24 pm

Well i just turned 7000 miles and the book calls for spark plugs change. So i have the plugs that the book calls for, but i wasn't sure which plug goes where. I figured just put the same one that came out, but Yamaha put identical plugs in! which plug goes where? The plug in cylinder 2 looked wet with gas while the other was dry. thanks

each spark plug (with the same #s)should be identical to another, and engines are usually designed to use the same # in each cylinder - so it generally makes no difference which-goes-where.

if one is 'wet', there may be carb involvement. keep your battery charged.

the age and mileage tells me it doesn't get ridden much (or hasn't been) --- try a Seafoam Trick* and see if that helps with wet-plug issue.

other-wise keep fresh oil in it, "ride-it-like-you-stole-it", and just enjoy it.

Is this what your book shows?

Same plug...two manufacturers. Only time spark plugs would be different in the "same" engine..is heat range.

In-fact here's a list of 41 plugs equal to the Denso or NGK plug listed in yer book-->> https://www.sparkplug-crossreference.co ... PN/U20FS-U

Take yer pick. :bg:
