flasher unit 1995 xv250

PostAuthor: deejayem » Sat Feb 08, 2020 2:22 am

***moderator: sorry I posted this in the general forum and it obviously should have been here. Not intentionally cross-posting***

Helping a friend rebuild her XV250. Have replaced the indicators with LED and of course the flasher module won't flash (just stay on solid).. So replace with an LED compatible flasher module. Still no flashing, just solid light instead of flash. So I thought the ebay flasher unit might be crap so unplugged it.

Now here's the weird thing; flasher unit now unplugged but the indicators still on solid. Correctly right and left with the switch, just solid and not flashing.

So from what I assumed, the flasher unit should be in series with the indicators. So if unplug flasher unit then the indicators circuit should be open with no power at all getting to the indicators. Am I wrong, or am I missing something obvious?

Thanks
DM

Howdy, and Welcome to VTF.

conversion to LED is potentially a "General" question; however, I moved this to the 250 forum so more likely to get proper attention there.

I moved to Electronics and left a Shadow copy in XV250.
