Where to get a workshop manual (SOLVED)

PostAuthor: Eaglearm » Thu Dec 28, 2017 7:14 am

Hi everyone, Eaglearm here. I want to put my Virago back together to see what is wrong ( if anything ). I have an extra hose/pipe/fuel line hanging free and cant work out where it goes.
Can someone help me please. Its a 250cc from what I know with the rubber funnel to the cylinders.
One group of fuel lines goes to the module on the tank & the extra line is from the fuel tap assembly. That line is a long pipe nearly 8 inches or 200 mm long.
I just cannot seem to find a position for it.

Considering I removed it... I should be able to remember where the damn thing goes, but it looks like Ive run out of connections????

Thank you in advance for your assistance Eaglearm.

Eagle arm,
You didn't mention if your still running the stock pod air filter. If you are there is a rubber hose that goes to the back of the air filter housing.

Thanks Jake, being a newbie here it might take a minute to work out where to put what... Just like Tom Boyte suggests, the tube to the (non existing) air pod, was wanting somewhere to live & had me confused too.

Ok cool. Thanks Mark75.
I'll give a short video a try.
I mostly hear about how hard it is to get a carby out of the engine & frame, so I'll show my solution for my 250 Virago single carby.

Seeing I'm working on my carby right now & had it in & out several times already, it might prove handy to someone. :bg:

Eaglearm: Posting a Youtube video is really quite simple once you know how :bg: Here's a tip: Click on the little camera from the menu above and it usually defaults to Youtube. Then when you paste the URL where it says "Enter a link for BBvideo:" you should notice that it has "HTTPS://..." edit that to remove the 'S' and the video will display when you preview your post.
I can't remember how I found that but it has worked every time for me.
I have also successfully changed the size of the video window by changing the Width and Height settings but be careful when playing with these settings, because if you get them wrong you can make your video look really strange.
I hope that helps with posting videos and if you're looking for a Workshop Manual then look no further than my signature at the end of this post as I have a couple of very useful links, one of which is a link to a selection of manuals. Just copy and paste the URL into your web browser's address bar.
Cheers
Wayne

That's my pleasure my Mentor :bg:
I guess it's just another bug or maybe a security thing that stops us from linking to secure videos and maybe even websites. I have tried that yet :):
Perhaps that's something that you could include in your Pictorial?

Thanks to everyone with your help & assistance. I managed to download the manuals & scrutinized them thoroughly.

Thanks to Tom Boyte regarding the air filter pod. That was a bit of a conundrum for me in the first instance. Not knowing any of the set up for the tubing... it turned out that was one of the extra tubes I couldnt work out where it went. Thank you.

mark75 as always is a source with extra benefits. Thanks to you too.

Wesso, so cool your info has been a great help too. Im gonna give some video a go soon... Soon as I work out how to do it Bro. ( not a tecki by any means here brother.) If I manage a video, ( & I have a couple now ) will they be in my Gallery?

Thanks To All that gave me a hand.
Cheers Eaglearm

The answer is “no”. Your album will only accept images.

If you don’t have a YouTube acct, set one up and upload your videos to there, after which post the links to the videos to this thread or another of your threads where the videos are relevant.

You could upload the videos to the forum, but you’ll find that most of them will be large files and will take substantial time to upload and then in order for someone to view them, they would have to download them. YouTube is much simpler and easier for all.
