I didn't realize that New cars got Dirty

PostAuthor: CX Rancher » Tue Mar 29, 2016 6:35 pm

2015 Nissan Versa Sedan 5-Spd, a View Owned

My trusty rusty K2500 was ready to separate body from frame.
I bought a, first ever for me, New Automobile.

I looked for a low cost sedan  New. $12,234 MSRP

Mexican made
3yr/36 month bumper to bumper minus rubber
Small Engine ; 1.6 L Normally Aspirated, 109hp, HR16DE
78 mm X 83.6 mm Bore x Stroke, 9.8:1 compression Twin Variable Timing Cams, Dual Injector Fuel System, Long Intake Runner Induction.
Engine is noisey, a happy tapper like an old Slant-6, mostly injector and chain
-- type noises. Louder than a Necchi but not unpleasant.
87 AKI or 91 RON Octane rating recommended
Large Interior Volume in class but the Butt width is a wee tight for some of my front passengers.
Good leg room, Good head room
Rear Seating good for Under-six-footers.
-- No fold down rear seat on this base model, no pass through
Dual Manual Remote Sideview Mirrors, non-heated.
Inexpensive Transmission, 5-Spd although clutch replacement est is high
-- @ $1,700.  I'd best learn how to make it live a long life.
Very Light Clutch feel
Seatbelts are easy to access and use. Height adjustable.
Fast heat to heater and Hot Heat - 150oF+
Rear window Electric De-ice grid
Good cold A/C. Cycling Clutch, not variable displacement.
Noisey cabin air delivery only on HI
Good air delivery positioning, manual recirculation control
Cabin air filter
Interior holds/builds moisture. Significant enough to illicit a driver warning
-- on visor on how to reduce moisture in cabin via HVAC controls.
Tire pressure monitor, single indicator no psi reading
Steering is nimble but has castrated road feel
Electric Variable assist steering
Extreme Buffeting on Hyway even by a drafter. Easily affected
-- by winds and aero wakes. my biggest gripe.
No Rear Spoiler on this Bare Base model. 1+mpg advertised With Spoiler.
Good Mileage. Actual 32 - 39 mpg by tankful to tankful in 4th or 5th gear.
OnBoard mpg calculator but overstates by 15%
Has Instant mpg meter aka Manifold Vacuum Gage as a FootMinder, helpful
10.8 US gallon tank. 350 mile max range.
Plastic inner and outer door handles.
Nicely bright headlamps, amber rear turn lamps. No Fog Lamps
ABS ( 4-channel ) and Traction Control with TC disable.
Active Stability Control, rear Drum brakes
Contenential tires, have flat spots in AM but become round within 2miles.
Steel Wheels, plastic covers.
Steering wheel control for audio and bluetooth. No Cruise Control.
Single CD player & plays .mp3 discs. AM FM. BlueTooth Cell Phone
-- through the Speaker communicatons. Mic in headliner, so-so clarity.
AUX mini jack, no USB, Selectable Speed sensitive Volume
Reclinable front buckets, manual fore-aft adjust only. No rear magazine holder
One power outlet in console, 10 Amp
Four cup holders in console 2 front 2 rear.
Door panel pockets with 20 oz. bottle holders.
Large glovebox, non lockable.
Teathered driver floor mat
Mud guards color matched
Manual Remote Trunk Release my favorite feature
Manual Remote Fuel Door Release
Single Click to close teathered Fuel Cap
Driver Door ONLY Outside Lock Cylinder
Manual Crank Windows
Rear Door windows rolldown fully
Manual Door Locks
Manual dimming rear view mirror
Vanity Mirrors unlighted and Side Shades in Visors
Very Good body fit and paint finish.
Air Bag City: Frontal, Frt SideCurtain, A-Pillar, Seatbelt pre-tensioners
Viper style double bubble roof lmao....well yeah

I miss the truck but I would not trade back, NOT to the 13 mpg.
10,500 miles in seven months, almost pays for itself in fuel savings.
It compares to the 1988 Ford Festiva I had for a couple years in mileage and road feel but its a lot nicer and has more features by a long shot.
It gets GoldWing mileage so thats about the only reason it got posted.

I just didn't realize that New cars got dirty....
