battery swap-out

PostAuthor: mikeo » Thu Nov 14, 2019 6:40 pm

Here's a basic question about batteries and sensors. I acquired a used touring bike a couple months ago (actually a 1987 Suzuki Cavalcade 1400) that is currently in need of a new battery. It has the old fluid filled battery in it and I wanted to switch to gel. I got the gel battery, but one thing I didn't take into consideration is the low fluid sensor that puts a notice on the dash when the battery runs low. Now that I am not using a fluid filled battery, and have nothing to stick the sensor into, what do I do with that wire to make the light go away? There is not a specific fuse for the sensor or I would just pull that out. Helpful thoughts are appreciated.

It isn't an actual light. It's an LCD panel with several icons that pop up

OK, a Suzuki forum may be able to answer this better, just in case you want to try the fix for a 920 cycom, here ya go.

Note: I cannot retrieve the pics in the following thread. They were hosted off site and now are lost. The only ones available are those in his album and they are thumbnails.
