MT-07 Varient when when when

PostAuthor: CX Rancher » Sat Mar 18, 2017 2:39 pm

I like the powertrain specs of the MT-07. But its soooo ugly.. lol more ugly than a Plastic Maggot.

Gimme a chassis that I can tour-lite/work with. The US never did get a XT660Z Tenere`
I don't need a sport bike or a Dakkar Ralley Bike, or a 1200GS, just a do all do anything not-in-your-face efficient smooth twin, a GL650 (a 'SWGLi') replacement.
Versys's seem so cheaply constructed, Wee-Stroms are touted as Weak-Stroms. Tiger800's mmmm are they all that>? Maybe a BMW F800GT an old NT700V, ST1100. Something aero-comfortable and fuel efficient.

DOGGGONE it, 18 months and YamRod will be Retired!
Meh, maybe.

Kaw is close with the Versys X-300, too short stroked. Dang close though.
The Ducati Scrambler-Sixty2 is quite close too. Honda CB500X gets a nod.

The quest continues :zz:

Are you in the market or just shopping?
From what I know of you, you aim at a lower seat height and not really impressed with gobs of power, ie; XV250.
Sounds like you prefer twins, understandable, but the market has been a little slim until lately.
I liked the Honda Alpinstar but it didn't last long and not easy to find now.
If I was shorter than I am and looking for a go (almost) anywhere bike I'd look at the DR650 for a lower seat and decent power.
Not too costly used and some aftermarket support.
A bolt on windshield, throw over tank bag, saddlebags and a rear rack/box and you're off.

Just sayin'

Aye drainplug,

winterwishbooking, Aye I am rather Small minded, Does it show? :):

Getting the last big tour on the notepad and keeping the Virago Hot Stove League engaged. We have had some warm spells and the lilYamRod wanted to run and this got me RoadMinded.

Still plan Sequoia this time. Dumb luck, I just learned that I hike with a fellow that had run Sherman pass on his bike a few years back. Daughter worked for Parks.
I just missed the lottery for MT Whintey, first go, but I'll hit second chance harder.

And from advice here, I'm not hellbent on Sherman. I thank for inputs here. Then the timing is now my mmmm semi conundrum. Have all of June or all of Sept. June is loaded at this time.

Aye, Rant,
I do like the powertrain on the Honda too. The 500X or the 500F is my perferred config at this time. XG500 HRLYs or the 500Reb if they are steals. 700cc version is likeable inspite of the puny fuel tank.
Trying to stay a multi-badger.
