NGK Spark Plug Caps

PostAuthor: chrismalm » Tue Oct 08, 2019 7:12 pm

You can disassemble and recondition your original spark plug caps up to a point before they need replacing. An OEM cap from Partzilla costs around $30 each ! RMStator in Canada sells re-pops for $15 each. NGK caps are available on Amazon and EBay but choosing the right one can be a gamble.
NGK Australia was kind enough to post charts of spark plug cap specifications so choosing the closest compatible cap is a little easier.
The part number is formatted as prefix + resistance + suffix.
Example :
A "YB_ _ F" style cap with a 5K resistor is part #YB05F

Yep..noticed that while back ago. Actually..latest listing has them at $44 ($49 from Yamaha). Coarse never called and asked why theirs' were so special. Maybe...they're still selling the old stock (aka: rebuildable)..and considered them "extra-special"? :;:

I'm directly from NGK, they're only $2.60.--> can get a (free) red or green NGK sticker. Maybe there's $40 shipping. :r: (Just checked: $4 S/H) Even Dennis Kirk has them at.$3.50 (including shipping). One of those items all over the place.
