Rear wheel offset 1st gen XV750

PostAuthor: ScorpioV8 » Sun Nov 07, 2021 7:32 am

Hi there, can anyone tell me if the 1st Gen XV750 ('81-'83) has it's rear wheel offset or off centre? I'm doing a little work on mine ready for next year and the rear wheel seems a little towards one side. Thanks.

The stock wheel shouldn't be, it must be on the same track as the front. The frame and the swingarm is shaped wierdly, though. Those both are slightly asymmetric.
Due to the drive hub and the swingarm design the hub in the rim is not perfectly centered if that's what you mean.
Same goes for the later duoshock models but those hubs are even more to one side - hence when you swap rear wheels between different generations the wheel alignment is off.
