Billy C, if you want to mail me a copy, I'd be happy to host it on a server for Viragotechers to download. Kinda dangerous, but if we keep it to VT alone, I don't see a problem.

Re: Parts Diagrams, Service Manuals

PostAuthor: CowChip » Tue Jun 27, 2006 9:37 pm

I've have a '86 1100 , and hope this CD will be valuable to get her back in prime condition and keep her there.

I'm doing my 1st valve adjustment in a day or two. I'm going to have to do a starter clutch replacement very very soon. If this CD has just that information in it and some pictures , it would be worth more than ten dollars. I'm slowly saving up the $60.+ to get a yamaha shop repair manual.

So , what's/what's not happening ?

got a copy from a generous member here & put it up @ sendspace

The download link is: http://www.sendspace.com/file/1ro61s

Name: BWcycle.exe
Size: 144MB

...it's a self-extracting archive which will unpack the contents of the CD into a folder BWcycle.

Enjoy!

p.s. - also added a XV750J parts catalogue (w/service bulletins), Haynes Vtwin manual and the XV750K owners manual to the package

Hey Guys,
I got a service manual on ebay from a guy called protoparts, he emailed it to me the day the auction was over, it was in .pdf format and cost only $6.99 US. Quite informative but some of the pics and diagrams were a little hard to see but still well worth the 7 bucks.

Yep those sites don't last long and either do them Ebay guys. Sooner or later the copyright police come knocking. #1 reason we don't have any full manuals on this site, just tech info.

Most any public library has a book for everything. Gotta ask for them like the playboys. Folks run off with em to often.

AT this site - http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/bikes/ ... %20%20.htm - I was able to download a color photo copy of the XV750 Owner's manual. One JPG file per page. I have it in a ZIP file, but that is nearly 5MB. Not as bad as the Haynes manual I downloaded from the now-defunct site - 53MB!

Let me know if there's a way to post the 5MB file of anyone wants me to email it to them.

Bingo! thats exactly what i needed. nice work man. I'll still wind up buying a shop manual, but having the owners manual really help.

as long as we're on the topic of manuals, is the $60 shop manual from yamaha really that much better than the $20 haynes or chiltons manuals? I'm not going to be rebuilding my engine or anything.. just routine stuff like changing the oil, rebuilding the petcock, taking off the silly aftermarket light bars the previous owner added, etc.

Depends on how mechanically challenged you are.
I have 4 different ones, + owners, for my 86 xv700 because I am profoundly MC.
And if I ever should sell her, they will be a nice "boot" (extra addition).
Personally, I think the OEM are best. Better pics and diaghrams. (vintage 83 920j one is my favorite)

Yes by all means OH GOD YES....

The official service manual is worth it and 100times better. Though it is a technical book. So it is good to have the cheap for dummies book for some things. Though if you ever need something for toilet paper...... Haynes is a bit softer.

Keep an eye out on ebay for used factory manuals. I got ones for each of my Viragos for less then the price of one Haynes manual.
