96 XV750 Crankcase Bolts

PostAuthor: jrtaylorthird » Wed Nov 28, 2018 3:23 pm

After finding most of the bolts that fell off an organized shelf, I seem to be missing some anyways. And please don't tell me to put them in cardboard mapped out in their general spots, I know I know...

The right-side crankcase cover has a bolt 91380-06030 that I simply cannot find. Can anyone find any pictures of what bolts go in the right side crankcase cover so I could get a bit more info on that missing bolt? Google returns zero images or shops I can see pictures of this one SINGLE BOLT.

YES I SURE HOPE SO.
Do you by any chance have a regular "non-Yamaha'd" list of replacement bolts for the crankcase covers?

this may help ---> viewtopic.php?f=75&t=28179
roughly p/n 91380-06030-00 denotes "91380[bolt/hardware]- 06 0 30 =M6x30"
you an use any metric bolt [of proper dimensions, of course] I would suggest getting something other than Phillips-head i.e. Torx, or Allen-head

from your local hardware / fastener supply

Just to elaborate on what Mark said...many sellers on Ebay have complete sets of these bolts. Already measured, usually stainless steel and ready to go.

Partzilla has the bolt for 95 cents. The kicker is $7.95 shipping.

If you want the bolt, buy some other stuff you need to soften the blow.

used to find kits similar to this ---> https://www.ebay.com/i/232413264780?chn=ps --- all over eBay

if you are looking for only that particular one - go OEM [~ a buck, + $8-9 S/H] or go to a local nut house :naughty: [fastener supply/hardware store - even Lowes or HoDepo] for a metric machine screw (M6x30mm)

IIRC, OEM were 'Phillips' [cross-head] or better --- up-date to Allens' or Torx --- my :2cents:

All the bolts are socket head. Here is a diagram of the bolt placements:

M6 x 20, 30 & 40 mm ---> https://www.mrcycles.com/oemparts/a/yam ... se-cover-1

all [metric/M6] should be readily available at your local dealer, fastener, or big-box hardware store.
