That's not the way a forum is supposed to work.

to me

Hi Charles

Here are a couple of pics. I used a BIP (Bike intake Performance) manifold which you can buy from:

Dave Kent bikeintake@gmail.com They are very helpful and can make you a manifold to fit into the standard rubber head joiners.

Go for a bigger slide carb (Don’t use a CV you’ll have no end of issues).

I used a 500 Enfield carb which I bought off E may. Upped the jetting a little and had to make an alloy transition piece which is
hidden inside of the rubber joiner. You will notice I also had the tank adapted (by a good welder not me).

Throttle cable – adapted Suzuki GN250. Air filer cheap K&N mesh copy inside a stainless steel mug (adapted).

From memory the carb was only 26mm and it really could have done with a 32mm round slide really. However around town it was amazingly quick up 100kph.
It would out drag the HD’s honest. I put a small vacuum driven fuel pump under the tank also since the gravity feed was not quite sufficient.

I’m now doing a single carb conversion on a Suzuki Freewind I have.

I sold the XV since the pipes were rotted out and it needed new tyres etc. I made lots of changes to it, inc handlebars, shortened gear lever, took the step out of the seat etc.

Had my fun now got other bikes and projects.

Please feel free to natter or ask Q’s."
