Mikuni Carb Flange Pattern?

PostAuthor: KilloVatt » Thu Jan 11, 2018 1:02 am

I currently i have a sea ray guy single carb manifold on my virago, and it runs alright with the stock carb. i was looking to switch it up to a mikuni TM40. would i need to get a new flange welded on to make that work? is the bolt pattern different? could i fit the carb into my existing boot?

IIRC a TM40 will have the same 47mm OD on the engine side as the stock carb, meaning that it should fit in the stock boot.

You may want to verify that by a) measuring your current carb and b) checking pages like Nichecycle or Sudco (both of which I think have all the relevant measurements on their websites (somewhere) for data on the TM40.

Cheers,
Greg
