remove warning sticker on fuel tank?

PostAuthor: dcreno » Tue May 08, 2018 12:25 pm

My "new to me" 2014 xv250ew has a warning sticker on the gas tank just below the filler cap. Do people generally remove this or leave it? If remove, is there a recommended solvent that won't damage the paint?

Newbie post 4/5!, one more to go! ;)

Use a hair dryer to soften the glue - sticker should come off very easily. If you have some glue remains, you can often remove it WD40 with no risk of paint damage. Gasket remover is another option, but best be quick about it and wipe off with water afterwards.

I agree with the hair dryer or a heat gun on low. I use "Goo Gone" or some other solvent that smells like orange rind to get the residue off. WD-40 does work but you have to rub a lot, with your finger. Don't use a rag, it can scratch.

Find or make another one that says "Hold my beer" and cover it up?
