Virago carbs

PostAuthor: bigwheel53 » Thu Sep 01, 2016 9:48 pm

About three months ago I took my 95 xv750 out of storage and decided I was going to take the carbs apart and clean them. Well the end result was the bike caught on fire and burned all the gauges and the wiring from the head light to just before the CTI area. The wires weren't melted together so I was able to separate them and I rewired everything. Now even the horn worked!! Well I wasn't going to touch the carbs again so I found a guy in California..viragocarbs.com..I sent the carbs to him..Straigtforward rebuild was 250$ but with the mods I had ..Open exhaust..foam air cleaner and no pollution devices I needed a Dinojet kit..extra 100$..I got the carbs back and installed them..The syncronize was right on the money and just had to finetune the air/fuel mixture..THIS BIKE NEVER RAN BETTER IN TWO YEARS!!! Its incredible the power it has now..off the line is great..climes hills with no effort..and cruises at 85 with no sweat. I don't even look for that extra gear anymore!! WOW this guy Joe knows his stuff!! Im not even looking for another bike or thinking about putting an 1100 in it. I am totally satisfied with this bike. It just runs fantastic and I enjoy every ride imensley..Eat your hearts out harley owners!!!!

You know you're not supposed to clean them with a blowtorch, right?

I synchronize my carbs every year before the season starts. I bought a nice syncro kit from JC Whitney about ten years ago for $40.

Man you are going to be sooooo happy with those carbs. He benched synced them perfectly and you just have to adjust the air/fue settings. I kept an eye on my plugs every ride and adjusted them according to the plug readings..Im NEVER selling this bike it runs so good. Its well worth the money to have them done right. Should have done them a long time ago..You wont be looking for that extra gear either..bike just hauls..good luck
