Online Sites

Hi,

I am from Philippines and is restoring a 1985 Yamaha Virago XV700. The engine is really bad. I mean about 50% is working and still attach to it. The other 50% is either lost or in bad condition.

The problem is it's a miracle to look for a shop/person who sell parts for my bike. You'll get what you need by buying a whole new bike(which is either a hot bike or a smuggles on).

I am browsing online sites like eBay and I found all the ones that I need. The problem is the shipping cost. If I'll have to buy all the parts, let's say for example a total of $1000, the shipping will be around $250-$350 and that excludes the customs and other import fees. So you may pay another $100-$500 just to get rid of the custom personnel(s). (I know the custom charge sounds ridiculous but it is what it is here in my country). Plus to it is the expense of going to there and going home. (I don't have any vehicle to ride going there and pick it up, got to always have it shipped from one place to another). So from the customs place to my place, it is another $50-$80.

I am like buying a new motorcycle with this amount. But this I love virago, and I want to restore this.

Any help you may suggest? any site that are easier and cheaper?

The customs fee are your countries costs. No one can help with that unfortunately. International shipping is what it is. Unless it's coming from the UK it's going to cost money.

You're awesome Hellgate! Thanks for all your responses.

Yes indeed customs are the real pain in the @$$. They won't let go of it useless you slap them with a cash.

Customs office where I have to pick up the item is a 7 hour drive. So that is 14 hours back and forth. So besides of paying them, I got to worry on how'll I get there and how'd I ship the parts to my house.

eBay is my 1st option for they offer global shipping program where I'll just have to pay the expensive shipping fee and I'll just wait it in front of my door. 2nd is www.webike.com but then again, shipping is damn a pain in the @$$.
