tci replacement verified

PostAuthor: Tacki1 » Mon May 01, 2017 9:06 am

posting this because I looked all fall/winter long for solutions and finally found one, seeing as how most topics on this board start out as TCI issues and not wanting to pay $200+ on ebay for a used "might work tci"
Found a tci that can replace stock as it has worked in my bike, tried replacing transistors, re soldering all connections on the board, cleaning all connectors on the bike, did a ohms test on pickups and they were a little out but jumped the connectors just before they enter tci then used a test light (bike running) saw blinking on both leads, then checked the orange and grey at the coils i had the orange always on and the grey blinking "firing" so something was messed up
I know the label says its for a xv400 but it works in my xv535 i was just about to throw it in the ditch, as my 535 was only running on one cylinder, only other option would be ignitech but didnt wanna go through the hassle it seemed to order

Thank you for posting this.

It will be a great help for many 535 riders.

If they have 'em for 700/750, and 1100 too, that would be huge.
