Hi. I own one of these SSR Buccaneer 250i Cafe Racer models, in white, w/ 2200 miles or so on it now. I'm delighted with it overall. It has a Lifan clone of the XV250 engine, with fuel injection and electronic ignition. The bike was designed in Italy by Italjet and an independent designer, and is sold under various names worldwide. Makes 18.1 hp, the owner's manual says. Top speed is 75 mph. Really fun and light weight. I'm happy to answer questions about it.

I've just joined this forum to take advantage of knowledge that I hope you all have about the engine in particular. As near as I can tell mine is an exact copy of the Yamaha one. I've read that Lifan bought the blueprints from Yamaha, but don't know if that is true.

I've already downloaded parts and service manuals from posts on this site for the XV250 and the SRV250, for which I'm very grateful. SSR doesn't have a service manual for the bike!

Best wishes to all,
Buccaneer
(in Madison, WI)

Interesting that it's sold in USA  Not that it is of any help to us on the other side of the pond, of course...

If you're in the UK, Sinnis announced it would be selling it back in 2016, but I think they changed their plans:

Buccaneers are being sold in Germany, Spain, Poland, Cyprus, and Turkey, under various nameplates.
