It may work. Not much difference in the shift shaft. Instead of cutting a wedge out of the angle, cut a square, if what you have doesn't work.

They do look very similar. The shaft that goes into the transmission, similarly, would probably need to be longer than stock. I wonder where the previous longer shafts came from.

The heel shifter would bolt on top of number 17 for the 535, no changes have to be made to the shaft.

I don't have access to a 535 for measurements. How far is the foot peg from the shift arm? Maybe I can get something made up for you to try.
