Naturally, I had to go for a joy-ride.

You need more practice on yer drifting. Trails are kinda irregular. Too many footprints. :cl:

2 weeks till Christmas and we're still waiting for snow. Getting some pretty high December temps. Probly going to have to get the lawnmower back out.

Coarse we have been known to get alittle spring dust'n in March.

Too true - I have ridden motorcycles and bicycles a lot on snow and ice since 1970, but I have not played much, focusing on arriving without toppling over instead. Which have worked well. But I am not champ on slides, to put it mildly.

The Virago was hard work on the slipperiness! The front would tuck constantly, and the merest whiff of a throttle would hang the rear out. Taking off on a very slight slope had the rear wheel spinning like crazy with the engine idling and the clutch slipping. I had expected more grip from the nobbies. The 500lb plus weight didn't help anything, either. I have no doubts that there are many riders who could just gas it with no fear and in full control, but I was happy just to keep it upright and confirming that my reflexes required to save the many front washouts still are operative :ops:

:r:

Road to work today, and instead of temps being just above freezing, it was now 5 degrees below. Didn't play, just rode. No issues thanks to the hard icy ground and just behaving :bg:

Ick...

I grew up in Colorado and road year round. Some days it was miserable. I don't miss that at all.
