My lifan lf250 bobber ish project

PostAuthor: browne4573 » Mon Oct 08, 2012 4:37 am

Work so far, cut and rewelded exhaust into 2 in 1 system. Removed front mudguard cut down and mounted at rear on home made bracket. Removed all if rear end, moved foot pegs forwards on custom bracket, extended gearshift and brake mechanisms, removed all if left side pod rubbish, manual petcock, blanked all vacuum hoses, made biscuit tin air box. Lower risers, made seat from chequer plate and leather jacket. I have lighting and number plate mount to sort out and side panels plus under seat panel to make plus panel to cover speedo binnacle recess in tank and move speedo up near bars somewhere. Bar end mirrors and paint etc to sort. Rear struts to be shaped and painted yet. Let me know what you think so far.

Thanks, I appreciate your comments. It's the first time I've ever tried anything like this, teaching myself to weld at the same time.

Thanks, I am really pleased with the seat. The padding on the back of the jacket just seemed to fit the shape perfectly. I even used the back protector as the foam cause its nice and dense. Cheers dude. I am really enjoying turning this generic cruiser into something a bit more fun.

thinking of going down a different route for the number plate and rear light. side mounts seem to attract too much attention and are of questionable legality. Besides I am trying to use bits and pieces that I have left from when I stripped the bike of all it's shiny bits. I am working on the presumption that everything is going to be painted black with a few white accents so that the tank fits in. getting there now I am pleased enough so far.

Might tidy the shed up a bit as well !!!

Hey well done, looks like you had a lot of fun with your bobber project. I like how you have used the stuff you had to hand rather than buying shop parts. Have a great time riding it now . Steerzpyke.

Thanks, it was fun and I spent hardly anything by reusing parts and odd bits of metal I had laying around.
