:VTF:

Good luck with that one. Outside of the chrome ones..tough to come across. But ya never know.
(Cheers?) I take it yer across the pond.

Do they still have them? Have no idea, but they're listed-->> https://www.cmsnl.com/yamaha-xv1000-198 ... /0022.html

Color wise? Who cares...why gawd invented paint. Unless yer a stickler for OEM.

I have some comments and a question.

1st:

Please add your location to your profile so no one has to ask in the future. With members all over the globe, some info is geographically specific.

Add your location at this link to your User Control Panel

2nd:
The XV1000 was only produced for two years for the US market in 1984 and 1985.
The 1989 Virago was an XV1100 not an XV1000.
The 1989 XV1100 was Empress Maroon ( no gold edition ) not Black and Red.

Does your motorcycle look like this ?

1986 xv1100.jpg

If the answer is yes ( the only one to come in black and red ) is a 1986 XV1100 . Once again, your location is important ! !

EDIT: I should have stated, the only black and red that gradiate together like that.

Worse case scenario/or just wanna do something different...I think it was Etsy who has downloadable plans for 3D printing for those covers.

Ok, just for giggles, do a couple of things for me.

Check the VIN stamped on the neck and the sticker to see if they match.
From my motorcycle

Also on the sticker, look at the manufacture date.
Also from my motorcycle.

Next look at the base of the front cylinder, just above the starter. The engine displacement is stamped into the case.

This is a pic of mine for reference.

What does yours have stamped ?

Next, run the VIN https://www.vincheckup.com/motorcycles

This is mine, just to demonstrate. You do not need to purchase the report.

Let me know what you find.

Well why didn’t you say so to begin with. Everyone knows paper work is always correct. ( note sarcasm ).
