Hi Justin,
It looks like you haven't been around here for very long so I will take this opportunity to welcome you to VTF
:VTF:
I'm sure there are quite a few VTF members who live in Sydney, I'm just not too sure how many of them log onto VTF very often.
So hopefully somebody from Sydney will see your post and reply to it.

So come on you guys from Sydney!!! Get in touch with Justin he would like to meet a few riding mates.
Cheers
Wayne

Hi Wayne,

Thanks mate much appreciated!

Yeah would be awesome to get together with some fellow Virago riders for a weekend ride etc - Pity you're in the Gold Coast! Come for a ride in Sydney haha.

Hopefully there's some Sydney-siders keen...

Cheers,

Justin

I'm 5.5 hours away, out in the sticks.
Should be a few Sydney siders with Yamaha's around.
I went on a local ride on the weekend, there was 2 virago 250s a vstar 650 and my virago 1100.

Cheers, Jason.

Wesso, After an absence from riding my bike for 5.5 years, -long stories about that, I have recently got my bike back on the road. I have looked at Ulysses Club, but haven't decided to join or not. A little expensive at about $140 for 3 years membership, and I'm not sure if the local chapter is active or not. I guess that if they are active I will probably join them.

I thought I hadn't seen you around for a while... It's good to see you back on VTF. I hope it wasn't anything to severe that kept you from riding for that length of time.
I have had a cataract for about nine months now and that has kept me from riding. Mainly because I can't see where I'm going of course and that is driving me crazy. My bike is probably feeling terribly neglected even though I keep her clean and I start her up regularly. I can't wait to get back on her and do some real riding.

Anyway here's some good news for you in regard to the cost of joining the Ulysses Club. It's not $140 for one year's subscription. It's $140 for the first three years and after that it's only $100 for each consecutive three years. It used to be $90 for three years but it was recently increased to $100 and I think that was because membership was falling and they still needed to cover the cost of running the club. Even if your local branch is not active there should be other branches that aren't too far away and I can assure you that you will be made most welcome at any branch that you might like to affiliate with. The thing is, when you join the Ulysses Club you don't join the branch, you join the club. So if you relocate you can just rock up to the local branch and once again they will make you most welcome.
Once you join the Ulysses Club you can enjoy discounts at numerous motorcycle stores, hotels and motels, tyre retailers and so many more places will give you discounts as soon as you show them that you belong to the Ulysses Club.
Unfortunately my local branch "The Gympie Ulysses Club" seems to be failing and we'll have to wait and see what happens at our AGM in a couple of weeks as to whether our branch will actually exist.
So far there is very little interest in Executive Committee membership and if that status doesn't change we will change from a Branch to a riding Group which means that we won't be ruled by an Executive Committee anymore. I'm hoping that it won't come to that.
Anyway it seems like that kind of thing is happening all over Australia. So most of us active members are trying to recruit as many members that we can. Riding in a group of Bikers can be very auxilerating when there are about three to four thousand Bikers all having a great time and believe me, we might be old farts but we do have a great time when we are let loose :bg:
I hope you do join the Ulysses Club because for all you know it might be just you attending the local branch that makes the difference as to whether it stays active or not.
This year's NATCOM AGM is being held at "Port Macquarie – Wauchope" on May 22nd to May 28th 2017.
Cheers
Wayne
