New shop- ideas?

PostAuthor: JayDanielz » Mon Oct 26, 2009 4:14 am

So, after years of thought, the Squaw and I are going to open a shop up in southern Maine. it's going to be a dual purpose shop, building/fabbing custom bikes and also custom street rods. There's enough tourism in southern maine to support it, so we're gonna go balls to the wall and see where we all end up.

Here's the question: Naming the joint.

I have the idea of 2 separate names, 1 garage, all doing business under a DBA. The bike side will be called "Dead City Choopers" and the street rod side will be "Tsunami Street Rods". It will be strictly custom work on both sides, none of this "sissy fender-bender repair work" (although, I'm sure we'll have to do some of that to just get started for some extra capital).

To start off, we plan on tricking out my old CJ/YJ/TJ Jeep (it's a YJ frame/tub, CJ front clip, and TJ parts...a mutt), selling it off, then buying a couple of ratty old bikes to chop out.

So what's the opinions of the names? Anyone have any ideas? I actually stole the Dead City Choppers off of a halloween costume, but it'snot trademarked, so I'm in the clear there....I usually don't steal names, but that one really struck me as unique....

JMO: 1 shop & 2 names could get confusing.
Maybe something like Chopping Block Customs - Rides and Rods... :con:

Whatever name you come up with, Good luck and Best wishes!
