Time to Let the Ole Girl Go... '81 XV750

PostAuthor: PerpetualConstruction » Fri Jun 08, 2018 1:03 pm

Picked up a new XV on an impulse buy last week. It's an XV1900, but an XV nevertheless :;: .

SOOO... I'm gonna' hafta let go of the '81 750. I thought I give y'all first dibs before I put her out on Craigslist for the common folk.

She starts, runs and goes, but needs a little love before I'd call her "reliable"... mostly in the starter department. New AGM battery this season, but the starter doesn't want to crank sometimes when she's hot. No idea what that means, it'll bump start no problem, so I know it WANTS to run... maybe just needs a new starter. Don't know, don't care to think about it any more.

Otherwise, I've done a lot of work over the years, so this may be a starting point for your own project, a donor for a project under way, or maybe you just want to keep her as-is.

Here's my old project thread: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=28802&p=257376&sid=481c04fd28b2d87328e9997ac9659a62#p257376

I did also do everything on the "to do" list in that thread... but note that was 7 years ago. Done nothing but ride it for the past few years.

This is her right now.

Clean title.
Asking $900. Local pickup only (northeast ohio). I'll also throw in whatever spare parts I've got laying around: a pair of cylinder heads, stock exhaust, maybe a stripped headlight bucket... not sure what else I've got.

Let me know if anyone's interested!
