91 up xv750 bare bones

PostAuthor: totallyredvirago » Sat Jan 31, 2015 9:13 pm

working on a bare bones wiring diagram for the 91 up xv750.
here is the diagram i am working off of.
92 xv750 diagram painted.jpg

blanked it out (i know messy)

added the power wire from the main fuse to the r/r, starter relay and ignition switch.

next added the fuse power from the ignition switch.

wired up the kill switch and coils. red/white from the fuse marked ignition to the kill switch and both coils. turn the key on and both coils and the kill switch power up.
from the kill switch the red/white turns to red/black. the red/black leaves the kill switch and goes to the starter relay and TCI. kill switch switched to run powers the starter relay and TCI. switch the kill switch to off and the switch kills power to the starter relay and TCI.
orange from the TCI goes to the rear coil... gray from the TCI goes to the front coil.
black from the TCI goes to ground. you can run this to its own ground or the harness ground (your build). the harness ground goes to the rear/front lights horns and others (not shown).. i show the harness ground grounding the TCI and push button switch. (this is just the ignition side of wiring. all needed to start and run the engine).
blue/white leaves the push button switch and goes to the starter relay.
the red/white leaves the starter relay and powers the starter solenoid.
the blue/yellow from the TCI goes to a solid ground.

with is diagram and my instructions you will be able to turn the key on, press the start button and have the engine run. i will do lights later..........dan

hey Dan, i'm loving this thread, but i'm having a hard time getting the images of your diagrams to be legible- when i click the image, nothing comes up. i tried saving the image but it ended up being a thumbnail that i still can't quite make out.

wondering if you still have the full size images around and if you can send them.

Thanks!
