Replacing ignition coils XV920J

PostAuthor: Gd14760 » Wed Oct 14, 2020 4:25 pm

I'm about to replace most of the charging system on my 1982 XV920J. I've run into a bit of a snag.

Would 2 of these coils work? Is there a better option? I just want it to run like factory.

Well it looks right, one of the important things is the bolt distance, as it is a pain to drill new holes in the very heavy duty engine bracket above the front cylinder.
I run stock coils on my bikes, and have never used or seen others, they have different color wires than the one in the picture.

The coils are not part of the charging system, so now you are into more than the charging system.

Are you sure anything is wrong with the coils, there is no point in spending money on new stuff if the old stuff is working.
