Riser question

PostAuthor: Mozzer » Mon Sep 02, 2019 8:06 pm

Hello All, I was wondering if I could put an older model viragos handlebar riser on my 94 xv750?
If not , does anyone know of any aftermarket ones that will fit that sit closer to the tank?
Thanks!!

I deleted your duplicate post in Choppers Customs Café. You only need to post one topic per issue/problem. Multiple threads on the same topic will not get you faster or better answers, most likely just duplicate answers. If different solutions should be offered, it's better to have them on one thread.

If you don't get an answer in a reasonable time, reply to your own thread with "bump".

All types of risers are available, Ebay is one source. I don’t recall offhand what the bolt stem sizes are, just keep in mind they need to be the same as you have.

XV1100 risers are shorter, the difference is the bolt stem, the 1100 is smaller so they need bushings or sleeves to make them fit.

Never thought to measure the studs on the pair I had, gave them to a friend. "Kinda" remember the 750 stud was 5/8" and 1/2" for the shorter riser. But, not sure. Lengths were the same. Only thing I can offer up is this pic. Might give ya a somewhat idea of the difference. Google would produce few kajillion varieties. Don't remember which Virago, but they were 'straight'. From stud to dog-bone clamp.

Close, 10mm ( same risers ) for almost everything else including XV250, XV535, ‘84/85/‘86 XV700, ‘84/‘85 XV1000 and ‘87 XV750

12mm for all risers ( same ) for all ‘88 to ‘97 XV750.

One other thing to consider, will shorter risers interfere with your handle bar turning lock to lock without the cables touching the tank.
