PostAuthor: FlyingTiger » Mon May 18, 2020 4:03 pm

Hi guys,

My rebuild is needing one of these split hinged type exhaust clamp rings that go between the exhaust end stub and the finned clamp to clamp the pipe to the head but i cant find any available anywhere in the uk.

part numbers or more clear reference would help. >>> (#6 ?) >>>https://www.mrcycles.com/oemparts/a/yam/5004243bf8700209bc787d40/exhaust

... "split hinged type exhaust clamp rings" ... "the finned clamp" ... have me a bit confused (and that not a hard task) :naughty:

At first I thought he was talking about #14 in this; but this is from an '84, and doesn't appear to exist for an '83???????????????

You "do" realize by saying "yes" to #14...that is for an 84' / 700.

Not for an 83' / 750, that you have in your profile, that's been reference to throughout all postings.

Kinda two different exhaust system and cylinder connects.

I"ve noticed that, often, the bike's manufacture date may be a year ahead of the "release", or "registration" date. For instance, he may indeed have an '84, but the date on the neck might be 1983. So it's an easy misunderstanding in that case. We have two 750's (CDN) in the family stable, one '85, one '86 but the date on the necks are '84 and '85. Just sayin' (and in my case caused some head-scratching in deciphering the applicable wiring diagrams).

sorry, I've no continental suggestions.

I have been a happy customer with these folks for over a decade --- note #14 - >>> https://www.mrcycles.com/oemparts/a/yam ... 51/exhaust

they are in USA so (what with shipping cost) no sure that is a big help for you; however, you could get the part # and inquire at a local Yamaha dealer & they might supply it for you.
the price might be MSRP, but still probably less than the other +across-the-pond shipping rate. [with most internet suppliers, if they show a price it indicates the part is still available OEM]
